"Somewhere In Time" Violin Duet FREE sheetmusic giveaway!

Hi Everyone! I have a wedding gig coming up this weekend- the mother of the groom hired the Kwee Music Violin Duo for the wedding ceremony, and the Kwee Music String Quartet (pop, oldies, and country repertoire) for the cocktail hour.

For one of our prelude songs, I arranged "Somewhere In Time" by John Barry for violin duo- it has a pretty straightforward Violin I part which consists of mostly melody and very few double stops, and then a massively advanced Violin II part :D :D :D I did this because if I ever use this song again in the future, I know it's not nice to jump-scare a violinist colleague with double stops out of the blue!! So I created a nice melody line for ONE of the parts, but the other part is ridiculously difficult and treacherous. I almost wanted to put a secondary title underneath: "Arrangement for melody and masochist" because not only is there double-stops and triple stops, but there are also quadruple stops, some spanning a range of more than 2 octaves! I'm particularly proud of this arrangement because I was thinking about chord extensions and inversions and combining those sounds in my head with the capabilities of the violin and what is possible with our fingers on just four strings and such little space... The melody is obviously the melody, but the Violin II part/accompaniment is completely original work by me!

I particularly love the harmony changes that I substituted in the second half- The 1980 movie that this song is taken from is about two lovers from different time periods (1912 and 1972). *Spoiler alert* they don't end up together because of the time difference. Well, I thought that a sad ending probably wasn't the best mood-setter for a wedding, so I put some really radiant, joyful, fulfilling harmonies towards and at the end.
